Sweet Colours specialises in freeze-drying roses.  With several advanced machines we can freeze-dry 35,000 roses per month. All of our freeze-dried roses are processed exclusively for sale as rose petals. Would you like to buy beautiful rose buds for decoration? We recommend that you buy our preserved roses. Our freeze-dried roses are not really suitable as decoration. The only thing that happens during the freeze-drying process is the removal of moisture from the rose. This results in a natural rose, specifically suited to be sold as rose petals, and 100% biodegradable!

Picked by hand
Once the roses are dried, they are picked by hand by our staff. This is a very labour intensive process and precise work process. The freeze-dried roses are actually quite dry after processing and therefore very fragile. The stem and crown are removed and the rose petals are left exclusively. The A-quality and B-quality rose petals are separated by hand. All of the petals with the best shape colour and without tears are sold as A-quality, the remaining petals as B-quality. 

Storing Freeze-dried roses 
Storage of freeze-dried roses in a special way retains their colour and quality. This allows us to plan orders ahead for big events for instance and to organise one single delivery for these without any problems. More information about freeze-drying? Read about ‘The freeze-drying process’.
